Our 32 Year Princeton Mine Strike Reunion – Nobody Did It Better

By now, many of you who were able to attend our Reunion in San Diego have had a month to get back to your homes, recover, and reflect for the last month on how things went. So many of you have shared what a great Reunion, and it truly was one for the record books. It is very impressive that we had more attend this event than our one nearly 7 years ago when you consider all our ages, the recent COVID pandemic and all the other factors that make it difficult to travel and participate in such an event.

First, on behalf of our Princeton Reunion Coordination Team, I would like to thank ALL of you who came and supported our reunion scheduled events. From the Check-in on Friday morning, followed by the Hornblower Cruise on San Diego Bay to the Reception that evening, through the Princeton Tour on Saturday Morning, and the Banquet that evening and the Memorial Service on Sunday morning, everything went nearly flawlessly (minus a few A/V hiccups during the Banquet ceremony LOL 🤣). Everywhere we heard so many kind “thank you” and “great job” messages from all of you sharing how well things went. We truly are delighted just how well this particular Reunion went given how long all you patiently waited for us to get the word out and ensure we had every detail worked out so that it could go as well as it did.

In this post, we share over 400 pictures that were taken by Noah Stone, the photographer that JE Films provided ‘gratis’ for our event. We are very grateful to Josh Eldridge and his team of professionals who are working on a documentary to tell our Princeton Plank Owner and Mine Strike Crew’s story. We expect a great documentary to be released in the coming years as our beloved ship eventually is decommissioned. For now, we are very blessed to have their skills in capturing our event in still pictures to enjoy now.

As many of you are wondering, we are just writing down all the things we learned at this event and are at the very beginning stages of planning our next Reunion which at this time will likely coincide with the decommissioning event in what is projected to be in 2026. Much work needs to be done before we commit to an actual date, so much like this past reunion, we ask that you be patient with us as we put together a plan that will ensure the next Reunion goes as well as this one did.

Until then, we remain certain that Nobody Did It Better and we are privileged to share these pictures with you all of a portion of our crew who make this a certainty!

See you at the Next One!
